The Big Tour competition on the first day of the 4Foulee Jump&Drive Zielona Góra ended with a victory for Germany’s Hilmar Meyer.
The Big Tour competition, for the prize of WOSiR Drzonków, gathered 59 pairs from almost 20 countries from Europe and the world on the start list. Both phases of the 140 cm high jump course were completed faultlessly by 31 of them, and a brave and dynamic round ensured victory for the pair from Germany - Hilmar Meyer and the 11-year-old gelding Orion ter Doorn. Second place went to the representative of Palestine, Egor Shchibrik riding Crack Boom Des Anges, and third to the bronze medallist of the Polish Championships, Mściwoj Kiecoń with 15-year-old mare Idealisca.
The Youngster Tour competition, for the prize of Tarant Events, was triumphed by Szymon Stasiak riding Nobel van het Vinckenhof Z. Second came the Lithuanian Matas Petraitis with Casaltina and third belonged to Brazilian Thiago Ribas da Costa riding Snow Patrol van de Bucxtale.
In the Small Tour competition, for the OptiFeed prize, the Greek Angelos Touloupis on Domino Z triumphed. Just behind him was Jennifer Jaritz-Gnaser from Austria on the mare Casablanca, and the Top 3 was closed by a pair from Germany - Toni Hassmann and Queen d'Or BC.
Touloupis recorded two wins today - he was also best in the Medium Tour class, for the Lubuskie Equestrian Federation prize - here riding Del Rey of the Lowlands Z. Te next places belonged to Lithuanian representatives: Matas Petraitis riding Cornet's Cloud and Laura Martinaviciute with Modest van den Eik.
Three more days of top-level sporting competition lie ahead. The highlight of tomorrow's programme is the Alexas Speed Masters Longines Rankings class, at 145 cm - this is scheduled for 5 p.m., but the competition will start first thing in the morning at 8 a.m. You are cordially invited to the stands - entry to the event is free.
