The first Longines Rankings competition of 4Foulee Zielona Góra ended with a win for home rider Marek Lewicki.
A total of 66 pairs competed today in the Alexas Speed Masters, a world ranking competition. The course at the height of 145 cm was not an easy one, and 25 of them managed to go clear. The win went to the rider who, at the same hippodrome in 2013, reached for the title of Polish Champion - Marek Lewicki riding La Pezi. This is the pair's fourth joint victory in a competition counting in the Longines Rankings.
‘I knew it was going to be a very fast competition - the possibilities for shorter turns were limited. The stipulation was to go very fast from the start, because almost everyone was riding the same route. The stakes were quite strong - I was riding towards the end, so I followed the whole competition and saw a lot of good rounds. La Pezi feels good here, I also have fond memories of this hippodrome - I had to take advantage of that!’ - said the winner - ‘The takeoff on the one went relatively close, so from one to two I had to gallop more aggressively and I think I gained valuable time with that, as well as the tight turn to the penultimate combination’
Second place went to Germany's Marvin Jungel with DSP Kontendra S, and third was the Polish Equestrian Federation's ranking leader Adam Grzegorzewski with Dark Fire.
The Medium Tour competition, for the prize of Bosma, ended with the victory of the pair representing Brazil - Thiago Ribas da Costa riding Cervoise Ste Hermelle. Second place went to Greek Angelos Touloupis with Del Rey Of The Lowlands Z and third place to Germany’s Simon Heineke with Call Me Pretty.
The win in the Youngster Tour competition for six- and seven-year-old horses, for the Gestut Bonhomme prize, went to Angelos Touloupis from Greece riding Qachica. Just behind him was Szymon Stasiak with Nobel van het Vinckenhof Z and the Top 3 was closed by Bartosz Gauza on Marigold MT.
In the Advance Tour competition, for the Gillmet prize, the best one was Austria’s Daniel Gnaser riding Jardy. Roksana Nawrocka finished second with Gacarla VDL Martina Echaust with Brandau – third.
In his debut on the international level, the winner of the Elite Tour for the prize of Tarant Events was Wojciech Kosinski riding Happy Rose. Second place went to Agata Malewska on the mare Evita and third to Elena Makarauskiene from Lithuania with Bebe.
